Stichting HomePlan is a small-scale non-profit organization that has been building houses, homes and futures for people living in extreme poverty in Latin America and Southern Africa since 1997.
We believe that safe shelter is the foundation for further development. We always collaborate with local partners, who know the circumstances and our project participants best. In addition to housing projects, these partners also implement projects in the areas of well-being, education, and employment and income.
The HomePlan Foundation is a CBF-recognized charity and is considered a Public Benefit Organization (ANBI) by the Dutch Tax and Customs Administration. HomePlan is affiliated with Goede Doelen Nederland and adheres to its guidelines, including those regarding compensation of charity directors and the code of conduct.

House, Home, Future
House
For each location, we assess the best type of house and facilities, such as a water tank, sanitary facilities, and solar panels. Residents are involved in the construction process, preparing the site for construction, and supplying water. Throughout the entire construction process and beyond, we maintain close contact with our local partners. A house has a tremendous impact on our families. A safe home provides better health, less stress, safety, more privacy, and a feeling of pride and self-worth!
Home & Future
Together with our local partners, project participants define additional projects in the areas of well-being, education, employment, and income. These could include agricultural projects, vegetable gardens, computer education, vocational studies, or support for caregivers. Together, we explore ways to offer not only a house and a home, but also the opportunity for a better future.
Our vision:
"A home, house, future for people in extreme poverty"
HomePlan aims to achieve the World Bank's target of structurally reducing the percentage of people living in extreme poverty from 10% to a maximum of 3% by 2030. HomePlan contributes to this by offering them a future perspective.
Our mission; this is what we stand for:
HomePlan stands for a home, house and future for people in extreme poverty in Southern Africa and Latin America. HomePlan contributes by working with local partners to realize housing projects and by projects or partnerships focused on the needs in the areas of education, well-being, employment, and income. Building a better future together; a safe home is the beginning of a better life, a better future.
For our local partners and beneficiaries, we are an equal partner in improving the conditions that are essential for a better future for people in extreme poverty.
For our donors, we are an organization that spends its funds responsibly and transparently, reporting on its progress, results, and impact. HomePlan involves people and organizations in the Netherlands in its work by keeping them well-informed.
We embody the following core values in our way of working:
Small-scale:
HomePlan is a compact organization that carries out concrete projects with direct communication to the projects and donors. HomePlan responds quickly and flexibly to current developments within its projects.
Transparent:
HomePlan has a clear approach. We communicate openly and clearly with our donors, project partners, employees and other stakeholders about our successes and areas for improvement.
Effective:
HomePlan strives to invest resources where they are most needed, with the greatest possible impact.
